Craig Ackerson (IT Manger at Lifematters):

Lifematter's mission is to provide quality affordable care to those in assisted living facilities or those who are living at home to make their life a little more comfortable.

A montage of the facility plays showcasing the employees of Lifematters. The montage captures various scenes, from employees diligently engaged in phone calls at their desks to compassionate caregivers actively participating in engaging activities with the residents.

Craig Ackerson: We have two main offices in Maryland and in Virginia.

Joseph Esparraguera: We're matching a caregiver with a patient and on the surface that doesn't seem like that could be that hard but when you talk to you about touching 600 lives a day and managing some 720 caregivers every day it can get quite complex.

The caregivers are observed attentively carrying out routine tasks with the residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Craig Ackerson: Proper training is crucial to the Lifematters mission. Most of the training that we do here is for our caregivers. The way that the printed materials come into effect as many of our caregivers come from all around the world. English may not be their first language so we try to print out documents that have simplified, graphical pictures. when possible to explain things so that they can go back and reference it.

A training sessions involving the caregiver staff is shown it terms of routine with the residents. Subsequently, a woman uses a printer to print out a packet of papers explaining the training session. The papers have informative graphics and are placed on top of the desk.

Printers are important to Lifematters beyond what you might ordinarily think. Much of our communication whether it's with our caregivers or with our client relies on printed handwritten care notes that we scanned in with our printers so we collect all of the information and submit that information to our clients and to government and insurance vendors we need to make sure that we have easy access to that information whether it's scanned in or whether it's printed out it needs to be easy to read and easy to distribute. Our vendor is DCA Imaging. The on-site tech who trained everybody on how to use it was so informative and entertaining. That's going over and above. It's been a really good relationship.

A multitude of the workers are shown interacting with the printer and using it to print out material to share with their colleagues. They then use the material to inform their collogues by pointing at information on the pintables and speaking to their collogues.

Joseph Esparraguera: We don't want our printing and our scanning of which you do a lot of to even come to the forefront of our minds. It is one of the things that just has to work. One of the good things of what we have now is I don't think about it and before I just have to think about it

All of the printers throughout the property is shown then the clip fades out to a solid background with the Sharp logo centered in the middle.
