CHECKING PAPER TRAY SETTING
Overview
Before printing, you can check the paper sizes, paper types, and paper remaining in the machine's trays. Click the [Tray Status] button of "Paper Selection" in the [Paper] tab.
The relationships between the "Paper Size" setting and the "Paper Selection" setting are as follows:
If "Paper Source" is set to [Auto Select] in "Paper Selection":
The tray that contains paper of the size and type selected in "Paper Size" and "Paper Type" is automatically selected to print data.
The tray that contains paper of the size and type selected in "Paper Size" and "Paper Type" is automatically selected to print data.
If "Paper Source" is not set to [Auto Select] in "Paper Selection":
Data is printed on the paper loaded into the specified tray regardless of the setting of "Paper Size".
When you have set "Paper Source" to [Bypass Tray], be sure to select "Paper Type". Check the paper type that is set for the bypass tray of the machine, check that paper of that type has been loaded into the bypass tray, and then select the appropriate paper type.
Data is printed on the paper loaded into the specified tray regardless of the setting of "Paper Size".
When you have set "Paper Source" to [Bypass Tray], be sure to select "Paper Type". Check the paper type that is set for the bypass tray of the machine, check that paper of that type has been loaded into the bypass tray, and then select the appropriate paper type.
If "Paper Type" is set to [Auto Select] in "Paper Selection":
A tray with plain paper or recycled paper of the size specified in "Paper Size" is automatically selected to print data. (The factory default setting is plain paper only.)

If "Paper Type" is not set to [Auto Select] in "Paper Selection":
Data is printed from the tray that contains the specified type of paper based on the size specified in "Paper Size".

- Special media such as envelopes can also be placed in the bypass tray.
For more information, see "BYPASS TRAY". - If 11 USER TYPE11 is selected from 01 USER TYPE1 in Paper Type, the paper type set in USER TYPE can be used. If paper settings are stored in USER TYPE, the USER TYPE name changes to the name stored in the paper settings.

To exclude the bypass tray from the trays that can be selected when [Auto Select] is selected:
In "Setting mode (administrator)", select [System Settings] → [Printer Settings] → [Default Settings] → [Bypass Tray Settings] → [Exclude Bypass-Tray from Auto Paper Select].If special media are frequently loaded in the bypass tray, it is recommended that this setting be enabled.
