    NEC introduces MultiSync Cathode Ray Tube's (CRT) allowing support for multiple video standars like Color Graphics Adapter (CGA), Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) and Video Graphics Array (VGA).

    MultiSync JC-1401P3 - NEC establishes the MultiSync brand and the world's 1st CRT desktop monitor that could automatically sync to multiple video signals (hence the name MultiSync)

  • 1987

    NEC Sales USA and graphics card makers standardized SVGA, and subsequently laid the foundations of defacto standardization through the established of Video Electronics Standards Assocation (VESA)

  • 1988

    Sharp develops prototype of world's 1st 14" color Thin Film Transistor (TFT) LCD monitor

  • 1991

    MultiSync 5FG - NEC pioneers flat square high-resolution 16" CRT monitor

  • 1995
