Sharp entered production print to diversify its offerings for dealers and provide end
users with a full suite of technological solutions. We listened to the market and
expanded our portfolio accordingly. In today's digital age, businesses seek
distinctive printing solutions to convey their brand identity, with print
embellishments becoming increasingly popular. After careful evaluation, Sharp chose
this product to deliver the best solution backed by our service and support. Its
leading-edge features—six-color, one-pass printing, ultra-high quality, consistent
results, inline finishing, support for up to 400gsm at rated speed, and a wide range
of applications—help customers stand out from the competition.
Sharp offers two color model presses. A 4-color BP-1200C and 6-color BP-1200S. The
six-color press is specifically made for designers and print operators who want to
add to their print offerings that can provide higher profit margins. The press boast
speeds of up to 120 pages-per-minute (ppm), is equipped with the BP-E12 v2.0, a
powerful Fiery® digital front end (DFE) and prints up to six colors in one pass,
including CMYK, gold, silver, neon pink, textured and clear toners.
Additionally, real-time color stabilization and precise paper handling as well as
timesaving inline finishing options, such as square fold, crease, 2-edge trimming
and a variety of folding options, provide consistent, professional results. The
real-time color stabilization and precise paper handling features are the foundation
for these precision print engines, transforming marketing messages into beautifully
printed works of art.
Sharp also added its two monochrome digital presses to its line up. The 125 ppm
BP-1250M and 136 ppm BP-1360M are powered by a Fiery® NX One Print Server and
include real-time image quality adjustments and precise paper handling as well as an
ultra-high output resolution at 2,400 x 2,400 dpi. Rich black solids and amazing
halftones provide unrivaled, consistent print quality.
The presses can handle very thick paper—up to 400 gsm—and different substrates such
as clear material, coated, textured, labels, metallics and synthetics. For the color
presses, users can print sheet sizes up to 47" long and for the monochrome presses,
sheet sizes up to 26" long. This really opens up opportunities for our clients to
produce standout marketing materials with increased profit margins.
Since most digital presses have a four-color engine, to achieve six colors, the media
must pass through multiple times, and in most cases, through multiple devices. This
process can get complicated and take twice as long. To solve this, Sharp's BP-1200S
Color Press can achieve six colors in one pass at rated speed.
In fact, v2.0 of the BP-PE12 Fiery Print Server utilizes the FS600 Pro Platform,
which offers major enhancements, including simpler color gamut extension with the
pink specialty color. Customers are able to create dazzling metallics and an
expanded spectrum of rich, vibrant color expressions hitting a much higher
percentage of Pantone® colors in the PMS library—perfect when matching colors that
fall outside of the typical color gamut of a CMYK-only device.
By adding the Bright Pink specialty color station as the fifth color, the color gamut
is expanded to help match the Pantone library more easily. It produces enhanced skin
tones and virtually eliminates printing spot colors that would otherwise need to be
printed on an offset press.
At Printing United 2025 Sharp previewed the GBC® FuturoPunch
Pro, an inline punching solution for its existing Monochrome Press Series
BP-1250M/1360M. This advanced system streamlines production by printing and punching
documents in a single step, ready for coil, comb, wire, or other binding styles.
Supporting paper sizes from 5.5" x 8.5" to 8.5" x 14", it's ideal for manuals,
workbooks, and bound reports—eliminating offline handling and boosting workflow
efficiency.
Sharp also previewed the upcoming Plockmatic Booklet Finisher, designed for
its flagship BP-1200S 4- and 6-color digital presses. This compact, high-performance
finisher supports booklet sizes from A6 to A4 landscape, including the popular
letter landscape format. It enables production of up to 200-page square-fold
booklets, corner and edge-stapled sets, and long-sheet applications up to 26
inches—all within a user-friendly system ideal for monthly volumes of 30,000–40,000
booklets.
