How the Right Education Technology – and Tech Partner – Can Empower a Brighter Future for Students

Across K–12 education, the right technology partner can do more than upgrade hardware; it can transform how educators teach, communicate and operate—ultimately reshaping how students learn. As schools keep pace with evolving standards, many are rethinking how technology can better support classrooms, protect information and improve day-to-day efficiency.

Sharp collaborates with educators across the U.S. to make thoughtful investments in technology that can modernize infrastructure, strengthen security and create more engaging experiences for students and staff. By aligning solutions to real-world challenges, school districts can unlock meaningful improvements across their operations.

Modernizing Classrooms for a More Engaged Learning Experience

Creating engaging, interactive learning environments is a top priority for many districts, particularly those transitioning from outdated classroom technology. Modern display solutions and reliable devices can significantly enhance both teaching and student participation.

At Pocono Mountain School District, aging classroom display technology limited the effectiveness of instruction. By replacing outdated projectors and Promethean boards with 300 Sharp AQUOS BOARD® interactive displays, the district was able to create a more dynamic, collaborative classroom experience. In addition, the deployment of 750 Dynabook Tecra® laptops with Windows 11 provided teachers with improved performance and functionality, supporting more seamless instruction across nine schools.

Similarly, Wilkes County Schools enhanced collaboration in the classroom by installing Sharp AQUOS BOARD® displays to enhance teaching experience and student engagement, providing more dynamic and engaging lessons. Teachers have been impressed with the displays’ exceptional brightness and clarity, which allows lessons to be conducted in ambient lighting conditions without having to turn off the classroom lights.

Streamlining Document Workflows and Enhancing Print Security

As schools manage increasing volumes of sensitive information, secure printing and efficient document workflows have become essential. Districts are looking for ways to protect confidentiality while reducing waste and improving access across multiple locations.

As an example, Burke County Public Schools were dealing with an outdated print environment that made it difficult to manage devices and control costs across 28 locations. By integrating a new fleet of multifunction printers with their existing PaperCut MF software, the district enabled secure badge-based print release, minimizing uncollected documents and strengthening information security. Staff training ensured that users could fully leverage these features, while proactive toner fulfillment through Sharp’s MICAS system and participation in the Sharp Toner Recycling Program supported more efficient and sustainable operations.

Similarly, Pocono Mountain School District addressed these needs by implementing PaperCut print management software with Secure Follow Me printing, helping protect document confidentiality and reduce unclaimed print jobs. The district also introduced eGoldFax Pure Cloud Faxing and WebCRD software, enabling more secure digital faxing and remote print submission.

Aliquippa School District also leveraged PaperCut software to monitor and control printing costs, helping optimize resources while maintaining visibility into usage.

Driving Efficiency Through Scalable, Reliable Infrastructure

Behind every effective classroom and administrative function, there should be a technology infrastructure that is reliable, scalable and easy to manage. Districts with large footprints or multiple locations need solutions that can support consistent performance with minimal work interruptions.

Burke County Public Schools benefited from a districtwide print modernization, with a mix of full-size and desktop devices deployed across 28 locations. With responsive service and support, the district has experienced very little downtime, enabling smoother day-to-day operations.

Sharp also worked with Pocono Mountain School District to replace a legacy fleet of machines with 66 multifunction printers, including high-speed color models with advanced finishing capabilities. The upgraded fleet now supports printing needs across nine schools, also with minimal downtime, improving reliability for both staff and students.

Elevating Athletics and Unlocking New Funding Opportunities

Technology is also playing an increasingly more visible role in enhancing extracurricular experiences and supporting school funding initiatives. Modern, digital solutions can transform school events while creating new opportunities for revenue generation.

Aliquippa School District modernized its athletic facilities by replacing outdated analog scoreboards with Sharp Direct View LED (dvLED) displays, delivering bright, high-clarity visuals for a more professional game day experience. By adding ScoreVision® software, the district can manage game information, digital advertising and announcements from mobile devices, streamlining operations during events.

The integration of digital advertising has also created a valuable revenue stream, helping offset event costs and support student programs—demonstrating how the right technology investments can extend beyond operations to directly benefit students.

A Partner That Helps Districts Move Forward

While each district’s needs are different, the impact of well-aligned technology solutions is consistent. From modernizing classrooms and securing sensitive information to improving operational efficiency and enhancing student experiences, school districts can turn their technology investments into meaningful outcomes.
