Admin Setup

Step 2: Install Synappx Go – No Login (Copy and Scan) Version MFP Applications

Sharp Workgroup MFP (A3) App Installation

  1. Install the Synappx Go - No Login.emo. The applications are available through the application portal or your authorized Sharp dealers.
  2. In any web browser, go to http://<IP Address of SHARP MFP> and log in as administrator.
  3. Navigate to System Settings, select Sharp OSA Settings. Then select Embedded Application Settings. Click the Add(Y) button.
  4. Click the Browse button and select the Synappx Go - No Login.emo file. Then click the Execute(U) button.
  5. Ensure that Register as Standard Application checkbox is selected. Click on Execute(U).
  6. Ensure that the app is registered successfully.
  7. Select Synappx Go - No Login and select Detail(M)
  8. Check the box Terminate the Application Automatically after specified time and set the timeout value. Then click Submit.
  9. Navigate to System Settings, select Home Screen Settings. Then select Condition Settings. Go to the Home Button table and select the home screen app you want to replace with Synappx Go No Login. Click that app name.
  10. Go to the Sharp OSA section and select Application. Use the dropdown next to Application to select the Synappx Go No Login app. Press Submit at the bottom of the page.
  11. View the Sharp MFP home screen to confirm the front panel is now showing the Synappx Go – No Login button.
  12. Press the Synappx button and a QR code displays on the MFP. This is the QR code that should be scanned to use Synappx Go - No Login Go features.
  1. In any browser, go to http://<MFP_IP_ADDRESS> e.g., http://172.29.123.45
  2. Navigate to System Settings, select Network Settings, select Services Settings. Then select SMTP.
  3. Ensure appropriate E-mail SMTP fields are configured for your environment.
When configuring for an Office 365® SMTP server, set the values as follows:
  1. Primary Server: smtp.office365.com
  2. Port Number: 587
  3. Sender Name: <Office 365 username of account enable for Authenticated SMTP>
  4. Sender Address: <Office 365 email address of account enabled for Authenticated SMTP>
  5. Enable SSL: Check box
  6. SMTP Authentication: Check box
  7. User Name: <Office 365 email address of account enabled for Authenticated SMTP>
  8. Device Password: <app password>

Sharp Workgroup Desktop MFP (A4) App Installation

  1. Install the Synappx Go-No Login.fls. The applications are available through the application portal or your authorized Sharp dealers.
  2. In any browser, go to http://<MFP_IP_ADDRESS> e.g., http://172.29.134.45
  3. From the left side menu, select Apps.
  4. Expand the Installed Apps section, and select Install an app.
  5. Click the Browse button and select the Synappx Go – No Login.fls file. Then click Open.
  6. Select the Install button. [View Image]
  7. From the MFP embedded web page, Select Device in the Settings section.
  8. Under Device Settings, expand the preferences section.
  9. Set Screen Timeout to the appropriate value in seconds and then Save.
  10. Expand the Power Management section.
  11. Set Sleep Mode to the appropriate value and then Save.
  12. Expand the Home Screen Customization section.
  13. Drag the Synappx Go – No Login from the Icons on other pages column to the Icons on Page 1 column.
  14. Select Save.
  15. To launch the application, from the MFP home screen select Advanced. [View Image]
  16. Select the Synappx Go – No Login application icon and the QR code will be shown for the Synappx Go user to capture from the mobile app to start scan to email and copy. [View Image]
  1. In any browser, go to http://<MFP_IP_ADDRESS> e.g., http://172.29.134.45.
  2. From the left side menu, select E-mail under Settings section.
  3. Expand E-mail Setup section.
  4. Ensure the appropriate E-mail SMTP fields are configured for your environment.

If using Office 365 as the SMTP server:

  1. To enable the account for SMTP, login to admin.microsoft.com.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Select Active Users and then select the user account that will be used for SMTP authentication.
  4. On the right-hand side pane, select the Mail tab.
  5. Under the Email apps section, select Manage email apps.
  6. Select Authenticated SMTP and Save changes.
  7. Browse to device embedded web pages.
  8. From the left side menu, select E-mail under the Settings section.
  9. Expand the E-mail Setup section.
  10. Set the values as follows:
    1. Primary SMTP Gateway: smtp.office365.com
    2. Primary SMTP Gateway Port: 587
    3. Reply address: <Office 365 email address of account enabled for Authenticated SMTP>
    4. Use SSL/TLS: Required
    5. SMTP Server Authentication: Login / Plain
    6. User-Initiated E-mail: Use Device SMTP Credentials
    7. Device Userid: <Office 365 email address of account enabled for Authenticated SMTP>
    8. Account Password: <app password>
