TOUCH PANEL
TOUCH TYPES
In addition to the conventional method of touching, the touch panel of the machine can be operated by tapping, flicking and sliding.
PREVIEW SCREEN
This screen displays the scanned original as an image. Here, check the scanned original and finish settings, and also edit the scanned original.
OPERATION OF FREQUENTLY USED KEYS
This section describes how to use the numeric keys, [Start] key ([B/W Start] and [Color Start] keys), [STOP] key ([Cancel Copy] key) and [CANCEL] key.
ACTION PANEL
This panel displays up to six shortcut keys for recommended functions that enable you to use the machine even more conveniently. Recommended functions displayed vary according to the operation on the panel.
CONFIRMATION SCREEN FOR FAVORITE MENUS AND SETTINGS
Use the Favorites Menu List to register functions you may frequently use in copy mode, image send mode and others by maintaining the setting conditions, and you can use such functions readily under the same conditions.
TURNING ON THE POWER
This section describes how to turn on/off the machine's power and how to restart the machine.
CHANGING MODES
STOPPING/DELETING A JOB, PRIORITY PROCESSING AND CHECKING THE STATUS
A job is a discrete unit of action such as copy, fax and image send. This section explains how to stop a job and how to perform priority processing.
TYPES OF JOB STATUS SCREENS
Jobs are listed by status: being spooled, in progress/reserved, or completed.

ECO
ECO FUNCTIONS
The Eco functions are designed to reduce power costs as well as to contribute to environmental preservation by reducing wasteful use of natural resources and environmental pollution.
PREHEAT MODE
This mode lowers the temperature of the fusing unit and makes the machine wait in low power consumption state. Compared to Auto Power Shut-Off Timer, the amount of energy saved is less and the wakeup time is shorter.
AUTO POWER SHUT-OFF TIMER
This mode turns off the power to the operation panel and the fusing unit, and makes the machine wait in the lowest power consumption state. Compared to preheat mode, considerably more power is saved but the wakeup time is longer.
AS SOON AS THE REMOTE JOB IS FINISHED, ENTER AUTO POWER SHUT OFF MODE.
Printing in Auto Power Shut-Off Timer turns on the power, and then the machine returns to Auto Power Shut-Off Timer immediately after completing the print job.
ECO SCAN
Non-print jobs such as sending a scanned original are performed with the fusing unit turned off.
POWER ON/OFF SCHEDULING FUNCTION
Use this function to set and control the times for turning the power on and off for the machine.
POWER MANAGEMENT SETTING
This function performs optimal power management for each time frame by analyzing the usage of the machine during a certain time period.

NAMES AND LOCATIONS OF TRAYS
THE DEFINITION OF "R" IN PAPER SIZE
To indicate the landscape setting, "R" is added to the end of the name of a paper size enabled for both landscape and portrait settings.

This section describes paper types that can be used and those that cannot be used.
HOW TO PLACE THE ORIGINAL
SELECTING A PROCEDURE FOR PLACING THE ORIGINAL DEPENDING ON THE TYPE AND STATUS OF THE ORIGINAL
Place the original in the automatic document feeder. Depending the type and status of the original, use the document glass.
ADDRESS BOOK
Register fax, e-mail and Internet fax addresses in the address book beforehand so that you can easily retrieve them in fax or image send mode.

This section describes "contacts" and "groups" that can be stored in the address book.
ADDRESS BOOK SCREEN
This section describes the operations available on the Address Book screen such as search for stored data.
STORING CONTACTS
You can store contacts either by direct entry or by using global address search results.
STORING GROUPS
Grouping more than one address to store them under "Group" helps you to easily broadcast messages to more than one address.
EDITING/DELETING ADDRESSES IN ADDRESS BOOK
You can edit or delete "Contacts" or "Groups" information or as well as addresses listed under "Contacts" and "Groups".
STORING ADDRESSES FROM FAX OR IMAGE SEND LOGS
As a new registration, add an address you have entered via fax or image send operations to the address book.
BROWSING WEB PAGES ON THE TOUCH PANEL
When the [Web Browse] key is displayed on the home screen, tapping the key will allow you to access the Internet and displays Web pages on the touch panel.
SHARP OSA
Using Sharp OSA, operation panel control and device functions such as scan send can be linked to an external application.
EXTERNAL ACCOUNT MODULE
This module enables you to use an "external account application" for centralized account management of a digital MFP on a network.
